Based on the Cortese grape, the Rovereto begins with a brillant lemon-gold colour and aromas of smoky minerals, bergamot and bitter herbs. Delicious expressive on the palate, with suggestions of sweet grapefruit, crisp fennel, Anjou pears and quinine, the wine counters its juicy citrus fruit expression with bristling acidity, a complex herbal note and a lively mineral undercurrent. Tensile and energetic on the finish, Rovereto's Gavi returns to its crunchy mineral core and leaves the palate crisp and refreshed with notes of citrus zest, saline minerals and appetizingly bitter almond skin.
