HISTORY:

Both Châteaux Pavie and Ausone claim to have been the first estates to be planted with vines in Saint- Émilion in the 4th Century.

Pavie’s modern history began in the 19th century when Ferdinand Bouffard, a Bordeaux négociant, consolidated several landholdings to create a single vineyard of 50 hectares. The estate then passed through several owners, including Albert Porte and the Vallette Family, until it was bought by Gérard Perse in 1998.

Since the Perse takeover, the quality and consistency of the wines have improved dramatically.
