🍷 Domaine Figeat, L'Héritage Pouilly-Fumé 6x75cl
A pristine, defined Pouilly-Fumé from Anne-Sophie Figeat — a chemist-turned-winemaker who left a successful career in science to take over one of Pouilly's oldest family estates. L'Héritage is sourced from 30-year-old vines planted across 16 hectares of clay and flint soils in Pouilly, Saint-Andelain and Les Loges. Each plot is vinified separately and aged for five months on fine lees in temperature-controlled stainless steel, producing a wine of real concentration, purity and mineral character.
👁 In the Glass
Pale lemon in colour with bright clarity — cool, pure and luminous.
👃 On the Nose
Enticing aromas of fresh citrus and white peach with an unmistakable hint of gunflint — the hallmark of this historic Loire village. Clean, precise and beautifully expressive, with a cool mineral lift that speaks directly of Pouilly's flinty terroir.
🍷 On the Palate
Complex and rich, with expressive bright citrus and stone fruit notes beautifully balanced by a precise, vibrant acidity. The wine's long finish carries the mineral gunflint thread through to the end — elegant, focused and deeply satisfying. Anne-Sophie's preference for earlier picking ensures freshness and balance even in warm vintages.
🍽 Food Pairing
A natural partner for classic Loire dishes — grilled goat's cheese on toast, river fish such as pike-perch or trout, seafood platters and asparagus with hollandaise. Equally excellent with sushi, Thai cuisine, herb-crusted chicken or a simple dressed green salad.
⏳ Ageing Potential
Delicious now for its vibrant, youthful freshness and mineral precision; will develop greater complexity and a silkier, more integrated texture over the next 3–5 years.
✨ Why You'll Love It
L'Héritage is Pouilly-Fumé at its most honest and precise — produced by a scientist with an unwavering passion for purity and minerality. State-of-the-art winery equipment, meticulous vineyard management and a preference for earlier picking combine to create a wine with a cool, mineral profile that stands apart from the richer, higher-alcohol styles of the past. A true classic of the Loire Valley at an accessible price.
